At approximately 9:20 a.m. yesterday (Wednesday) Jefferson Police officers responded to a report of a domestic assault in the 100 block of East Central Ave., which led to the arrest of 40-year-old Jody Lyn Schad of Jefferson. At approximately 2:02 p.m. the same day, officers were called to return to the residence. Schad, who had been released from the Greene County Jail, had returned and reportedly threatened the resident with a fireplace poker and used it to damage a 2000 Nissan Maxima. Schad was arrested again and charges of Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon—an aggravated misdemeanor and Criminal Mischief in the fifth degree—a simple misdemeanor were added to the charge made earlier in the day of Domestic Abuse Assault—a simple misdemeanor.
