Sac County will not be seeing any local candidates facing off in the upcoming June 7 primary as all three Republican incumbent candidates are currently running unopposed. Ranell Drake has filed to run again for the District 1 Supervisor’s seat along with Auditor, Jim Dowling, and Sac County Sheriff, Ken McClure. Filings for the county elections of candidates affiliating with a party were due to the county courthouse at the end of business on Wednesday, March 30. Non-partisan candidates can still file to be included on the Nov. 8 general election ballot if the appropriate nomination papers are submitted to their County Auditor between Aug. 8 and 5 p.m. on Aug. 31.
