Jefferson Police Join State and Federal Agencies In Forgery Investigation

The Jefferson Police Department worked with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Federal Agents on a forgery case involving fraudulent checks being written to local businesses. Following an initial investigation, arrest warrants have been sought for 41-year-old Cynthia Louise Hobbs for four counts of Forgery, a Class D Felony; Identity Theft over $1,000, also a Class D Felony; and Ongoing Criminal Conduct, a Class B Felony. There is no known address for Hobbs. Numerous other agencies in Iowa have similar, on-going cases involving Hobbs and are working with Federal Agents in locating her.
