On Monday evening the Carroll Fire Department responded to a report of a fire located at 306 North Carroll Street in Carroll. The call came in shortly before 6:00 pm, and upon their arrival at the scene fire personnel discovered a Figure-8/Stock Car which was fully engulfed in flames located outside a garage. Firefighters were then able to quickly extinguish the blaze in short order, but not before the car received heavy fire damage.
Fire Chief Greg Schreck says the men who were working on the car reported that they had been welding and a spark apparently ignited materials in the vehicle. When the car first caught fire it was located inside the garage, but the owner was able to pull it out outside before any damage could be done to the structure. The Carroll Fire Department was on scene for about 20 minutes.
