At approximately 9:11 p.m. Saturday, March 12, the Jefferson Police Department received an advisory from Boone County of a careless driver who had nearly sideswiped two vehicles and was westbound on Highway 30, heading towards Jefferson. An officer located the vehicle as it entered the city limits and performed a traffic stop on Highway 30 and North Grimmell Road. While questioning the driver, the officer smelled marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Further investigation led to the arrest of 20-year-old Nickalos Andrew Brown of Jefferson for Possession of a Controlled Substance—Marijuana 1st offense. Suspected narcotics were also located and seized.
