Kuemper speech students made their coaches, Susan Glass, Sue Murphy, Jake Gute, Lydia Schettler and Deb Gute proud with a great showing at the individual speech state competition held at Woodbury Central High School in Moville on Saturday. Twenty-one students participated with 16 receiving 1 ratings and five going home with 2 ratings. Students performed in front of three judges who ranked various aspects of their categories, and those who received scores of 1 from the judges are now eligible for nomination to perform at the All State Festival, held at the University of Northern Iowa on Monday, April 4.
