STEM Education efforts at IKM-Manning draw attention of Lt. Gov. Reynolds

Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds will be paying a visit to the IKM-Manning School District on Friday, March 18, in an effort to increase interest in STEM education. Reynolds is the co-chair of Governor Terry Branstad’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Advisory Council. The Lt. Governor and her staff selected IKM-Manning for their visit due to the school’s involvement, alongside its community partners, in STEM Education.

Reynold’s will begin her visit to the school with opening remarks for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade in the gym. Then everyone will participate in a hands-on mini-STEM Festival checking out working exhibits. Community partners and parents, along with Reynolds and her staff, are invited to observe how the students use STEM education in their daily education routines.

The event will start promptly at 1:15 pm and conclude at 2:15 pm in the IKM-Manning Gymnasium. Due to the tight schedule community members planning to attend are encouraged to come early. For questions contact the school at 712-655-3781.
