Ar-We-Va’s seniors are currently the only ones taking classes at Carroll High School this year, but that will change beginning this fall. For the 2016/2017 school year Ar-We-Va and Carroll will begin a partial-grade sharing program between the two districts for freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. On Wednesday Ar-We-Va students spent part of their day at Carroll High getting acclimated to their new surroundings. Following a welcome in the auditorium, students in 8th through 11th grade were then paired up with a Carroll student and attended classes from 2nd through 5th hour together. The students also learned about their fall class options and the registration process.
Following their student’s visit curious parents may also want to check out the facility, and they’ll have the opportunity to do so during an open house on Monday, March 14. That night the Carroll High School building will be open from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm for Ar-We-Va parents and guardians to better acquaint themselves with the high school building, check out the afforded opportunities, and also visit with Carroll’s teachers. The following week Carroll’s counselors and administrators will visit with Ar-We-Va students in Westside to finalize their class registrations. Freshman and sophomores will sign up for three classes at Carroll with juniors and seniors taking five. For questions call the Ar-We-Va high school office at 712-663-4312.
