At approximately 3:02 yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), 20-year-old Kylee Sheeder of Panora was involved in an accident with Guthrie County Sheriff’s Deputy, 32-year-old Kent Gries of Guthrie Center. Sheeder was reportedly traveling southbound on Quail Road in a 2004 Hyundai Elantra and failed to obey the stop sign at the junction with Highway 141 in Bagley, striking the driver’s side door of the eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Gries was driving. Gries’ vehicle spun around and entered the ditch. The Sheeder vehicle came to rest on the road. Gries was transported to the Guthrie County Hospital by Guthrie County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of minor injuries. Sheeder was uninjured and stated she had no recollection of the failure to obey the stop sign and admitted to not wearing a seatbelt. Gries’ dash camera will be used to verify what happened in the incident. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
