Winners of the Domus Trinitatis Trivia Night this weekend will be able to tout official bragging rights as 2016 marks the third year of the fundraising event. Twenty-five tables made up of teams of eight will be competing for top honors, and Organizer Julie Masching says if you don’t have a team individuals are still encouraged to register and they’ll pair you up with an existing table. Alcoholic beverages and popcorn will be available during the event, but Masching says when it comes to food it’s B-Y-O-S: bring your own snacks.
A silent auction, games, and a raffle will also take place during the Trivia Night event which will be held at the Greteman Center on Saturday night, February 27, with doors opening at 5:45 pm. Masching joked that their current fundraising goal is a modest $140,000 when compared to when they first started out.
The Christian Retreat Center first broke ground in August 2013, and the convent is now nearing completion. Masching says each day brings them closer to welcoming their first guests.
A priest’s residence, which is already fully funded, will also be built at the center with future projects to include twelve small cottages, barns, a reception area, and a chapel. Gardens and orchards will also be located at the center with the hope to one day become self-sustainable. For more information about the Trivia Night visit their website or Facebook page.
