Earlier this month the Stewart Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary was able to raise nearly $40,000 during its biggest fundraiser of the year. Monies raised during the 2016 Trivia Night event will help purchase three EKG machines, one designated for each clinic in Rockwell City, Lake View, and Gowrie, as well as two new labor and delivery beds for the hospital.
During the fundraising event thirty-three teams competed in various Trivia Night contests with members of The Sporleder Cyclones earning top honors. When it came down to the final question they knew the answer for the correct color of the mint flavored M&M mascot. Throughout the night teams also participated in Dead or Alive and Heads or Tails and earned points for decorating their tables, dressing alike, and singing karaoke. Auxiliary Member Mary Ludwig says, “Many teams dressed in costumes including Hawaiian, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Nerds, Valentines, Iowa and Iowa State Fans, and Emoji’s,” and she was pleased to see a lot of team spirit in the room. The names of winning team members, and pictures from the SMCH Auxiliary event be found below.
