Corndog Checkoff Asks Iowans To Help Preserve Iowa State Fairgrounds

It is cold out now, but the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation is already thinking about funnel cakes, Ferris wheels, food on a stick along with livestock and art exhibits and entertainment for every taste as they prepare for the 2016 Iowa State Fair. Each year, the foundation is charged with raising funds for improvements and renovations on the historic 450-acre fairgrounds. One of the ways they do this is through the Corndog Checkoff, which has raised more than $1.9 million since 1993. The Corndog Checkoff, which is officially named State Fair, is line item 57b on the Iowa Tax Form 1040. This makes it easy for residents to check off one dollar or more to help preserve the fairgrounds. The gift is either deducted from your refund or added to the amount due and is fully tax-deductible. For more information on the Corndog Checkoff, contact the Blue Ribbon Foundation at 800-450-3732 or by emailing bluerf@blueribbonfoundation.org.
