Kuemper Ball 2016 Theme Revealed At Kick-Off Dinner Last Night

That was Friends of Kuemper Ball co-chair, Kelly Foley, unveiling the 2016 theme for the very first time last night (Wednesday) at their annual kick-off event. Foley said the students, faculty and Kuemper family are all Olympiads that should be celebrated and this theme will give them the opportunity to do that from now until the 32nd-annual ball on Saturday, April 30.

This year’s chair couples: Scott & Kayla Venner; Jeff & Dawn Koster; Kelly & Brenda Foley; and Mark & Melanie Bauer have been planning and coordinator this year’s event since the day after the 2015 Kuemper Ball on May 2. The team said, when something isn’t broken there is no need to fix it, so popular fundraising events such as Pianapalooza and the Ag, vehicle and general raffles will remain. Kayla Venner said they did want to put their stamp on it, so they added a new fundraiser last fall with an Okoboji cruise for over 100 people. The evening was spent rallying committee chairs that work with the team to put on this major fundraising event. Venner said the pride in their school system is clearly evident with the enthusiasm shown by the volunteers.

Foley and Venner said with the strong support of area businesses and residents the ball continues to be a success, raising $628,087 in 2015 that was used to support the Kuemper system through the general operating fund, marketing and recruitment, tuition assistance, student information software and much more. A full listing of raffle prizes can be found below.
