On Wednesday, Jan. 20, at approximately 12:59 p.m. a 2003 Chevy Silverado driven by 18-year-old Jared John Rotert of Halbur was involved in a single-vehicle accident on 280th Street near Coon Rapids. Rotert was westbound on 280th when he reached to pick up a pop and lost control of his vehicle, striking a bridge rail on the north side of the bridge. The vehicle continued west over the bridge and into the north ditch. No injuries were reported, but there was an estimated $5,000 damage to the Silverado and $2,000 damage to the bridge. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
