Inspired by refugee’s plight; Carroll DMACC student organizes clothing drive

DMACC Student Activity Council member Teddy Pike and his family will brave the frigid weather on Saturday in order to collect clothing for people in need who have little else but the clothes on their backs. Pike says he was inspired to hold a clothing drive after meeting a refugee and hearing his story during a presentation at DMACC.

The clothing drive will benefit Chol’s non-profit organization Clothing World Needy People (CWNP) and will take place this Saturday, January 16, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Any gently used shirts, pants, socks, and shoes in children sizes through adult will be accepted at the north Kmart parking lot, and then distributed to those who need them most.

Pike adds a clothing item Westerners don’t usually associate with the area are also needed: coats.
