The Carroll County Board of Supervisors discussed Fiscal Year 2017 proposed compensation rates for elected officials and for Carroll County employees at yesterday’s board meeting. After a proposal that elected official salaries be raised by 3 percent, Supervisor Mark Beardmore made a recommendation to freeze the board’s pay at this time. This request was not favorably met, and a motion was made to accept an increase at a rate of 2.6 percent for the elected officials. The board also discussed the employee salary rate and agreed to keep this on par with the current union negotiated rate of 2.6 percent as well. Another recommendation was made to the board that for the next fiscal year budgeting process, they review the possibility of moving to flat dollar amount increases, but this would ultimately be a decision made by the Carroll County Compensation Board.
