A year-end report from the State Data Center reveals that Iowa’s overall population has grown by more than 77,000 since the 2010 report from the U.S. Census Bureau. That increase brings the 2015 estimated population to nearly three million one hundred twenty-four thousand people. Coordinator of the data center, Gary Krob, says Iowa’s population has continued to grow for the past 27 years at an average rate of two and a half percent.
