Stewart Memorial Community Hospital announced yesterday (Thursday) they have adopted new Mission and Vision Statements after a re-examination of the organizations long-term goals. CEO, Heather Cain, said the key words used to develop the new mission statement, which focuses on the present and their primary objective, were health and wellness. She said they want everyone they serve to lead a higher quality of life and wanted that to be clear in their mission of “Committed to quality health and wellness for your family.” With the vision statement, Cain said they looked to the future to develop an inspirational and motivational message. It is meant to portray how they are driven to be more community-focused, proactive and engaged as they seek to “Transform our communities by providing coordinated care and exceptional experiences.” With the mission and vision statements as their guideposts, the organization also identified three top priorities. The first is to recruit and retain high-performing providers and staff; the second is to build the care model to improve quality, efficiency and coordination; and the third is to build a unity culture and educate the community on who SMCH is.
