Having older machinery collecting dust in storage doesn’t serve a great purpose, so when the opportunity arises to sell that equipment you strike while the iron is hot. Recently an interested party approached city leaders in Sac City looking to buy two specific pieces of idle equipment, and city clerk Adam Ledford says those items have been in storage for a while.

The generators were built in 1978 and were used at the facility until around 2012. One generator is rated at 75 kilowatts while the other is rated at 100 kilowatts. For over 30 years each generator was put through its paces and each used for a different purpose at the sewer plant.

Bidding is open until Tuesday next week and any interested parties need to submit their bids at Sac City’s city office by the end of business day on December 28.
