Dr. Eric Jensen, a current city council member, is running unopposed for the Carroll Mayor position after current Mayor, Adam Schweers, announced this summer that he will not be seeking re-election. That, however, is the only uncontested race on the city’s Nov. 3 ballot. There are three seats on the city council with Tom Tait and Misty Boes running for the Ward Two seat; Carolyn Siemann and Barbara Toohey for the Fourth Ward; and Mike Curtis and Brandon Vonnahme vying for the At Large position. To give the public a chance to get to know the candidates before the election, the Carroll Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a candidate forum on Wednesday, Oct. 14 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Carroll High School auditorium. Candidates will be answering questions submitted prior to the forum as well as questions from audience members in attendance or any texted in during the event. Those wishing to submit questions prior to the forum can do so by mailing or delivering written questions to the Carroll Chamber office at 407 West 5th Street, P.O. Box 307, by email at chamber@carrolliowa.com. Texted questions can be sent that evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. to 712-790-3584. The entire forum will be broadcast live on 1380 KCIM.
