Estimated $15,000 In Damages In Highway 30 Accident Tuesday

No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident at approximately 9:34 p.m. last night (Tuesday) at the intersection of Highways 30 and 25 north of Scranton. A 2015 Cadillac, driven by 73-year-old Louis Hastings Walsh of Carroll was northbound on Highway 25 and had stopped at the intersection, but his vehicle was stopped with a portion protruding onto Highway 30. A 2012 Chevrolet Explorer, driven by 70-year-old Robert Lavern Twit of Ames, was eastbound and struck the Walsh vehicle in the rear tire and trunk area. There was an estimated $10,000 damage to the Walsh vehicle and $5,000 to the Twit Explorer. The Greene County Sheriff’s office and Scranton Fire Units responded to the scene. The Greene County EMS were also present, but all persons involved refused medical attention. Walsh was cited for Unsafe Stopping.
