Through the years Gore has volunteered for multiple organizations including serving on the patient advisory committee at St. Anthony, serving as President of the Iowa Region of the Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Association, coached soccer, baseball, and softball teams, served as a boy scout leader, was chairman of the Carroll HS after-prom committee, served on the family readiness group with the Iowa National guard, and has also volunteered for other organizations throughout Carroll County and the state. She says the various skills she’s learned will help her serve the district; such as the work she’s done for the alumni association.

When it comes to school board activities Gore says experienced members do help the district, but there are others within the school from which she can gather knowledge.

As Election Day edges closer Gore says it has been great to hear from community members and she wants to continue that open line of communication if she’s elected. She says the purpose of the board is to do what’s best for the students and the whole community and it can’t be done without input. Absentee votes will be accepted until 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, at the Carroll County Courthouse with polls open from noon until 8:00 pm. We’ll bring you more from the candidates up through Election Day here on KCIM.
