The Lake View City Council has approved an extension to the longstanding police contract they have with Wall Lake. The agreement between the two communities has the Lake View Police Department providing law enforcement services for both towns until 2023. Very little has changed since earlier contracts with the exception of pricing. Under the new extension, the cost of the contract billed to the City of Wall Lake will be adjusted each year based on changes to the regular wages for officers, which generally increases annually. The Lake View Police Department consists of three full-time and three part-time officers. Between the two communities, they serve approximately 2,000 residents.
