Live music is coming back to Black Hawk Lake in Lake View this summer with the announcement of five, free outdoor shows in the 2017 Stone Pier Summer Concert Series. The season starts Saturday, June 3 with the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, featuring opener, Chad Elliott. The four-piece band with a decidedly classic rock sound will take over after Elliott kicks the evening off at 6 p.m. with his laid-back storytelling and skillful finger picking. Other bands that will be showcased over the summer include: the Brazilian 2wins with the Island Time Band on July 1; The Black Lillies with Matt Woods on July 29; the King of the Tramps and the Cordovas on Aug. 12; and Salty View’s Acoustic Review with guest Maddie Poppe on Sept. 3. The free concerts are sponsored by Boulders Inn and Suites, Iowa State Bank and Movelt.com. “We’re excited about returning to a five-show schedule this summer and about presenting our most diverse lineup of music to date,” says Tom Bolan, concert co-chair. “We truly have something for everyone this season and can’t wait to welcome a lot of stellar talent to our one-of-a-kind Stone Pier stage.” More information can be found on their Facebook page or on the Lake View website. Links to both have been provided below.
