Carroll Broadcasting has received an update from the Carroll County Auditor’s Office on filings made for upcoming elections. Although several area communities are seeing contested races for city government in the Nov. 7 City Elections, there are some that have a shortage of candidates for the available open spots. Dedham has three at-large seats in the upcoming election, but only two candidates, Tony Seidl and Christopher Hoffman. The City of Willey is short one, with only Keith Schreck filing paperwork to run for one of the two open at-large positions and Halbur is also short a candidate for their two open at-large seats. Bryan Wittrock is the only one running. The open positions will be eligible for write-in votes, but anyone winning a seat through that method is given the option of accepting or declining the nomination. At that point, the city councils will be responsible for appointing an individual. A full listing of all races and candidates can be found below.
