Several emergency crews were called to the Meadow Wood Apartments in Carroll Thursday afternoon on reports of a fire. At approximately 3:20 p.m., the Carroll Fire Department responded to 1106 Woodland Dr. in the eastern portion of town. According to Fire Chief Greg Schreck, the fire started on a stove-top in apartment 207 and was stopped from spreading by an occupant using a fire extinguisher. When fire crews arrived, a significant amount of smoke still remained in the building. Crews remained on scene for about 30 minutes to clear the smoke and monitor for hot spots. No injuries were reported during the incident. The Carroll Police Department and Carroll County Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.
