The Lake City Council has approved a bid for a land use study to help the town have a better understanding of where to expand. It has been nearly 20 years since Lake City had a land use study performed. The $4,200 offer from Simmering-Cory, a company out of Clear Lake, passed at last week’s meeting, and the study is expected to be fully completed and a report ready by summer 2017. Simmering-Cory will be surveying the town and gathering information on existing structures during their work. Once that information is gathered, the company holds meetings with the city to determine what projects are planned and then make recommendations on locations in town to place them.
