Iranian Deal Still Not A Foregone Conclusion According To King

Carroll, Iowa — United States Representative Steve King says the groundwork for the Iran Nuclear Deal currently being proposed by President Barack Obama began years ago. He says secret meetings have taken place for years and these were followed up by feelers sent out to see how the public and people in Washington would react.

He said all of the secret negotiations are an attempt to circumvent Congress.

King added he believes the House and Senate will both vote the deal down, but that the way the deal has been structured means it won’t end there.

It would take 46 or 47 Democrats to join together will all of the Republicans to override that presidential veto.

King gave a compressed analysis saying if this agreement passes, it would put $150 billion into the Iranian economy to help them expand their conventional military, their support of Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations and allow them to accelerate their research on next generation centrifuges.

The deal is expected to be one of the hot topics of discussion when session resumes Sept. 8, and King says he will not only be voting no, he will be working to collect all the votes he can to override the veto.
