Ar-We-Va clamped down in the 2nd half on defense and held Heartland Christian to 10 points while scoring 25 to blow open a tight game at half. The Rockets led 28-22 at half but came out scoring it well and defending well in the 3rd outscoring Heartland Christian 16-6. Cooper Kock finished with a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Will Ragaller added a team high 17 points to go with 7 rebounds. Kalon Cleveland chipped in with 8 points. The Rockets improve to 6-16 on the season and will head to Manning on Thursday for a District Quarterfinal matchup with Boyer Valley at 6:30 on 93.7 KKRL.

Kuemper used a strong inside and outside game to advance into a matchup at AHSTW on Thursday. Kyle Feauto hit five 3’s and Kyle Berg pulled down 17 rebounds while pouring in 14 points as the Knights led after each quarter. Kuemper shot 25-61 from the field as a team and Feauto was 5-10 from three. He finished with a team high 18 points and added 5 rebounds. Tyler Putney scored 15 points and had 7 rebounds and 6 assists while John Mayhall added 14 points. The Knights have won 3 of their last 4 games and sit at 7-14 on the season. Kuemper was up 37-28 at half and took a 8 point lead into the 4th quarter. Kuemper travels to AHSTW on Thursday for the district semifinal on KCIM.

Griffin O’Neill hit his first two 3’s of the night and that was the story for East Sac as they roll into a district semifinal matchup with SE Valley on Thursday. O’Neill hit nine 3’s in the game setting a school record for made 3’s in a game and finished with 27 points. He hit 9-14 from beyond the arc. His two early 3’s put the Raiders up 6-0. The Cougars responded with a 7-0 run to take a brief lead. East Sac trailed 9-8 and went on a 7-0 run and never looked back. Camden Schroeder hit a 3 from 24 feet at the 1st quarter buzzer and the Raiders led 24-11. The Raiders kept the pressure up in the 2nd quarter as O’Neill and Schroeder teamed up for 34 points in the 1st half and the Raiders were up 43-27 at half. Derek Aschinger made a couple nifty steals early in the 3rd and the Raiders eventually went up by 30. Schroeder finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds. East Sac hit 25-48 shots and 13-25 from 3 point range. The win moves them to 16-6 and they will take a 4 game winning streak into the game with SE Valley in Rockwell City on Thursday night on KIKD 106.7.
