Carroll hung tough in the 1st half but couldn’t keep up as Ballard warmed up in the 2nd half. The Tigers held the lead several times in the opening half with 4 lead changes and 3 ties. The Tigers last lead though came at 17-14. Ballard tied the game with a 3 and then went up 20-17. Carroll responded to tie the game at 20 but a 5-0 run by Ballard put them up 25-20 at half. The game stayed close until Ballard went on a 14-0 run late in the 3rd and led 47-29 heading into the 4th.  Turnovers were a big part of Ballard success as Carroll had around 30 turnovers.  Ella Collison finished with a team high 10 points and Laura Sweeney added 8. The Tigers fall to 12-8 overall and 706 in the Raccoon River as they head to Carlisle on Friday on KIKD 106.7.

Both teams had a shot at the end of regulation but couldn’t get the shot to fall and the game headed to overtime. The Jaugars the lead late in the overtime and the Rockets got a good look at a three and the shot went in and out at the buzzer. Danielle Hoyle led the Rockets win the loss with 22 points, Chloe Berns added 14 and Tessa Steiml added 8. The loss drops the Rockets to 13-8. They host Coon Rapids Bayard in the 1st round of Regionals on Thursday on KIKD 106.7.

IKM-Manning At Audubon

Audubon avenged loss from earlier this month and head into the playoffs with some momentum having won 2 straight. The Wolves saw their 8 game win streak snapped and will have a week to get prepared for their Regional game. Audubon did a nice job against the Wolves pressure and only allowed the Wolves to get 5 steals which limited their ability to get out and run. The Wheelers meanwhile had 9 steals and got double figures from Aleah Hermansen, Leah Subbert and Jaci Christensen. Hermansen had a great game with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Suubert added 10 points and Christensen finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Lexi Branning was the only Wolves to score in double figures with 12 points and she led the team with 6 rebounds. Audubon moved to 14-7 oerall and 11-5 in the Western Iowa Conference while IKM-Manning slips to 1-5 overall and 12-4 in the Western Iowa. The Wheelers will host Orient Macksburg on Thursday in 1st round of Regionals on 93.7 KKRL. IKM-Manning will entertain East Sac on Tuesday, February 18th in 1st round Regionals on 93.7 KKRL.

The Titans pulled away in the 4th quarter to win by 10 after leading by just 2 heading into the 4th. the game was tight all the way through with SCC leading 11-9 after the 1st quarter and 23-19 at half. Riley Batta led the Titans with 18 points, Kylee Schleisman added 11, Sayer Steig and Emma McKinney finished with 10. Josie Bontrager paced the Raiders with 17 points, Maty Quirk added 14 and Kayla Kraft had 10 in the loss. Mary Bontrager and Quirk each had 7 rebounds. South Central Calhoun finished the regular season at 15-6 overall and 7-4 in the Twin Lakes while East Sac ends the regular season as 9-12 overall and 5-6 in the Twin Lakes. The Titans travel to Clarion Goldfield Dows on Tuesday in the 1st round of Regionals while East Sac heads to IKM-Manning for Regional play also on Tuesday, February 18th.
