Carroll At Marshalltown Invitational
Carroll had a great day at the site of the Girls State Swim Meet later this season. They added four girls to the State Swim meet in three events. Melea Axman got things started when she won the 50 Free in a state qualifying time of 24.47. She wasn’t alone as Jenna Currier took 2nd in the event and also swam a state qualifying time of 24.74. That was the second event Currier had qualified in this season. Currier turned right around and qualified for state in the 100 Fly with a time of 57.73. The time was more than just a state qualifying time as Currier set a new school record in the event. Axman was 2nd in the event and was just off state qualifying time. Carroll wasn’t done sending swimmers to the State meet. Emma Myers joined the party, qualifying in the 100 Breaststroke. She took 2nd place in the event with a time of 1:08.46.
The Tigers would finish in 3rd place as a team out of eight teams competing. This was the first invitational for Carroll this season and was a great way to start the weekend portion of the season.
