It didn’t take long for Carroll to establish their dominance in this game. The defense forced 5 turnovers in the 1st two minutes. The Midgets called three timeouts in less than 6:00 of game action and Carroll led 12-1 with 2:58 left in the 1st quarter. The Midgets first 5 points all came on free throws as they scored their first basket of the game with 4:40 left in the half. Late in the 4th quarter Carroll had only committed 4 turnovers. The Tigers led 28-3 at the end of the 1st quarter and were up 46-17 at half. ELC came in wanting to penetrate and kick for 3’s. Carroll took away the dribble drive and limited the Midgets to two made 3’s in the 1st half and only 5 made baskets in the 1st half. Meanwhile Carroll had 8 guys play and all of them scored in the 1st half. Treyton Goins had 10 of his team high 14 in the 1st half. Karter Lein had 8 of his 12 while Colby Vincent and Kelin Jones each had 6 points at half. Jones would finish with 10 as the 3rd player to reach double digits. The 3rd quarter was slow for both teams as they combined for 15 points. Carroll scored 9 of those. Carroll largest lead came in the final minutes as they extended it to 67-29. The Tigers will face off with SBL on Thursday in Carroll at 7:00. SBL beat Spencer 72-44 in the 1st game of the playoff double header.
