William “Bill” Beidler of Carroll

William “Bill” Beidler, age 85, of Carroll passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Brookestone Meadows Plaza in Elkhorn, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 20, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Rev. Robert Riggert officiating.  Organist for the service will be Abe Batten.  Casket bearers will be Monty Rohrbeck, Lon Dentlinger, Jason Rohrbeck, Tyler Rohrbeck, Michael Dentlinger, Daniel Smolinski, and Brooke Smolinski.  Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery with military honors by the Carroll American Legion.  
Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Sunday where there will be a prayer service held at 6:00 P.M.  The casket will be moved to St. Paul Lutheran Church at 9:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M.  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com
Born on June 17, 1934 in Carroll, IA, he was the son of William Sr. and Golda (Caywood) Beidler.  He grew up on the Beidler family farm northeast of Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School in 1952.  Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served two years as a Paratrooper.  Upon his honorable discharge, Bill returned to Carroll and worked for Farner – Bocken and Wenck Feed in Lidderdale.  Bill also owned and operated a farm and hog operation northeast of Lidderdale.  Bill was married to Colene Foley on October 5, 1957 in Maryville, Mo.  They raised their family on the farm and moved into Carroll in 1990.  Bill and Colene were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church while living in Lidderdale and they joined St. Paul Lutheran Church after moving to Carroll.  He was also a member of the Carroll American Legion.  Bill enjoyed fishing, golfing, going to coffee with his friends, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events,  playing cards, sitting on his front porch, and going out to lunch at the Carroll Muni Golf Course Clubhouse.  Bill loved his family and especially cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill is survived by two daughters: Becky Rohrbeck (Monty) of Glidden and Jeri Dentlinger (Lon) of Omaha; his son Craig Beidler (Gary Cederlind) of Flower Mound, TX; four grandchildren: Tyler Rohrbeck (Jen) of Glidden, Jason Rohrbeck (Cherie) of Granger, Brooke Smolinski (Daniel) of Omaha, and Michael Dentlinger (Rachel) of Omaha; six great-grandchildren: Caden, Landon, Colton, Kyleigh, Alexa, and Blakely; two sisters: Betty Morris-Moore of Lake City and Pam Borst of Mesa, AZ; a brother Don Beidler (Jane) of Carroll; his in-laws: Linda Beidler of Mesa, AZ, Bernie Foley (Connie) Perris, CA, Kenneth Foley of Carroll, Malick Foley (Rosie) of Mansfield, TX, and Irene Foley of Carroll.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Colene of 59 years in 2016; his parents William Sr. and Golda Beidler; his mother and father-in-law Ed and Sally Foley; and a brother Dale Beidler.
