Stephen Rummans of Bayard

Stephen Floyd Rummans, age 65, of Bayard, IA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2020 surrounded by his family at his home in Bayard.
A visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids from 5 – 7 P.M. on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home of Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com
Born on January 21, 1955 in Des Moines, IA, he was the son of Floyd and Margaret (Young)  Rummans.  Steve grew up in Des Moines where he attended high school until enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.  He served in  Vietnam for two years and returned to Iowa.  He was married to Michelle Meyers on October 10, 2003 at Eldora, IA. Rummy as he was affectionately known to many lived in several locations before moving to Coon Rapids in 2010 and to Bayard in 2015.  He worked for Stone Trucking, the Guthrie County Landfill, and most recently the City of Bayard.  Rummy enjoyed his many pets, fishing, classical music, and spending time with his family.
Steve is survived by his wife Michelle of Bayard; his step-children: Lacy Meyers of Bayard, Dusty Cochran of Lake City, and Cory Meyers of Ft. Dodge; his children: Terry Rummans of Ackley, Spencer Ferguson of Webster City, and his daughter Jamie; six grandchildren; his father-in-law Richard Meyers (Bev Brown) of Coon Rapids; a sister-in-law Brenda Meyers (Harley Herron) of Coon Rapids, a brother-in-law Tony Meyers (Leah) of Carroll; and several other extended family members.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Margaret Rummans; his brother Larry; his mother-in-law Patricia Meyers; and a sister-in-law Jeri Meyers.
