David “Dave” Glenn Lockhart of Ankeny, and formerly of Carroll, IA passed away
peacefully on January 25th, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. A visitation will be
held at Ankeny First United Methodist Church on Sunday, February 2, 2020, at 1:00-3:00 p.m., with funeral service following at 3:00 p.m.
David was born November 26, 1960 in Carroll, IA to Glenn and Lucille (Lucy) Lockhart.
He graduated from Carroll High School and attended the Tool and Die program at
DMACC.
May 9, 1987, Dave and Sherry Andersen were united in marriage at The First United
Methodist Church in Carroll, IA. He was a family man attending his children’s activities,
made time for motorcycle vacations and rallies, taking trips to northeast Iowa trout
fishing, and going on lots of family camping trips and vacations.
Dave was regarded as an expert in the machine tool industry with over 35 years’
experience. He worked as Service Manager for the machine tool company DMG/MORI
(formerly Erickson Machine Tools) in Story City, IA.
David is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Sherry Lockhart of Ankeny, IA; daughter
Dr. Shelby Lockhart of Olympia, WA and son, Lucas Lockhart of Ankeny, IA; mother,
Lucy Lockhart of Carroll, IA; sister Lori and Mark Sturm of Glidden, IA; Father-in-law
Dale Andersen of Carroll, Brother-in-laws; Terry and (Carrie) Andersen of Newton,
Barry Andersen of Des Moines; sister-in-law Jerri (Randy) Riesberg of Lidderdale, IA;
and many nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his father Glenn Lockhart, sister, Lynn Ann Lockhart,
mother-in-law Carol Andersen and step mother-in-law Betty Andersen.
