Sue Oliver of Coon Rapids

Sue Marie Oliver, age 63, of Coon Rapids passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at her home in Coon Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids with Rev. Joyce Webb officiating. Organist for the service will be Lula Garnes and soloist will be Cindy Seastrom. Casket bearers will be nephews: Bradley Oliver, Jason Oliver, and Matthew Oliver, great-nephews: Arron Oliver and Nolan Oliver, and her good friend Charlie Nixon. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery near Coon Rapids.
Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids from 5 – 7 P.M. on Tuesday evening. The casket will be moved to the First United Methodist Church at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M. Born on January 12, 1956 in Des Moines, IA, she was the daughter of Orrin “Pete” and LaVonne (Dryden) Oliver. Sue grew up in Coon Rapids where she graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1974. She attended the University of Iowa and lived in Homestead, IA for a few years and worked at the Ox Yoke Inn Restaurant. She then moved to Des Moines where she worked as a Veterinary Tech. While living in Des Moines, she attended DMACC and became a Certified Lab Technician and worked for Broadlawns Hospital. Sue moved back to Coon Rapids in 2005 because of health reasons and to be near her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids and Eastern Star. Sue enjoyed gardening and planting flowers, playing piano, trivia, Scrabble, cross word puzzles, and listening to music especially the Beatles. She loved animals and truly adored her cats Chloe and Squeak.
Sue is survived by her brother Mark Oliver and his wife Pat of Coon Rapids; three nephews: Brad Oliver (Alicia), Jason Oliver (Marni), and Matthew Oliver (Kelsey); two great-nephews: Aaron and Nolan; a great-niece Norah; and other extended family and many good friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents Orrin and LaVonne Oliver, her grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
