Norma Ludwig of Vail

Mass of Christian Burial for 84 year old Norma Ludwig of Vail will be held 11 A.M, Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail with visitation 2 hours prior to Mass. The Huebner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She passed away Saturday at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa.
Survivors include: her children: Cathy Gayle (Tom) of Spicewood, Texas, Bob Ludwig (Lynette) of Vail, Iowa, Terry Popp (Brian) of Omaha, Nebraska, and Tom Ludwig (Colleen) of Denison, Iowa; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Alma Schroeder of Elma, Iowa, Anita (Duane) Hannasch and Alice Thielen both of Carroll, Iowa, and Myrna (Van) Schmidt of Three Forks, Montana; one brother, Urban (Patricia) Koster of Breda, Iowa; brother-in-law, Otmar Bierl of Arcadia, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Norma Jean Ludwig was born at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Carroll, Iowa, on October 8, 1934. She passed away at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, on June 8, 2019, at the age of eighty-four. Norma was the thirteenth of fifteen children born to Hazel (Van Erdewyk) and Clem Koster of Breda, Iowa. She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School, Breda, Iowa, in 1952 and furthered her education at Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa, to obtain a teaching degree. She taught at Holy Spirit Catholic School in Carroll, Iowa and later graduated from Midwestern College in Denison with a Bachelor of Science degree. Norma met Romaine Ludwig at a dance at the Legion Hall in Arcadia, Iowa. They married on June 12, 1956 and were the parents of five children: Cathy, Bob, Terry, Tom and John. Norma enjoyed gardening, golfing, quilting, playing cards, socializing at the casino and spending time with her grandchildren. She was active in the American Legion Post 65 Auxiliary and St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Vail, Iowa. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Romaine; and son, John. Survivors include: her children: Cathy (Tom), Bob (Lynette), Terry (Brian), and Tom (Colleen); ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Alma, Anita (Duane), Alice, and Myrna (Van); one brother, Urban (Patricia); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
