Mass of the Christian Burial for 94-year-old Marcella A. Nurse of Carroll will be held Thursday, December 13th at 1 pm at St. John Paul II Parish – Holy Spirit Church in Carroll with burial in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will form an honor guard at the Funeral Mass. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5 pm on Wednesday where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 pm, followed by a Rosary led by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Visitation will resume at Holy Spirit Church at 12 pm on Thursday until the time of mass. Marcella is survived by 2 daughters: Susan Morrissey of Kansas and Michelle Nurse of Des Moines; 6 sons: Jim Nurse of Carroll, Dan Nurse of Missouri, Tom Nurse of Lanesboro, Ken Nurse of North Carolina, Steve Nurse of Cedar Falls and Nick Nurse of Toronto Canada; a sister: Teresa Fitzsimmons of Des Moines; a brother: Johnny Shoemaker of Churdan; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
