Local Candidates To Answer Constituents Questions At Chamber Forum Oct. 10

For this year’s mid-term general election on Tuesday, Nov. 6, the absentee voting period is reduced from 40 to 29 days, but there will still be plenty of time for voters to hear from all local candidates prior to casting their ballot, either absentee or in person. The Carroll Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a candidate forum on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Carroll High School Auditorium. The forum will get underway at 7 p.m., and each one of the nine candidates will be given time to make an opening statement and answer questions from the public in attendance. Written questions can be submitted to the Chamber prior to the forum by mail to 407 West 5th Street, P.O. Box 307, Carroll, Iowa 51401, dropped off in person at that same address or emailed to chamber@carrolliowa.com. Candidates who will be participating include: Carroll County Supervisor, District 2 Democratic incumbent, Dean Schettler; Carroll County Supervisor District 4, Democratic incumbent, Marty Danzer; and his opponent, Republican Stephanie Hausman; Carroll County Treasurer, Democratic incumbent, Jean Seidl; Carroll County Recorder,  Democratic incumbent, Kathy Schwaller; and her opponent, Republican Ashten Wittrock; Carroll County Attorney incumbent, Republican John Werden; and Iowa House District 12 State Representatives, Republican incumbent, Brian Best; and his opponent, Democrat Peter Leo. Carroll Broadcasting will air the event live on Oct. 10.
