The Sac County Secondary Roads Department has announced a substantial road construction project is scheduled to begin next week. On Monday, June 8, a nearly 7.5-mile stretch of M54, also known as Rolf Avenue, between Lake View and Sac City will close to through traffic. Work on resurfacing the roadway is expected to last through Friday, July 10 depending on weather conditions. The road will be open to local traffic only, and motorists are strongly encouraged to use the designated detour route along Highways 175 and 71 and 255th Street for all other travel.
