The Carroll County Cattlemen’s Association backed up traffic on U.S. Highway 30 last Friday when they gave away two-pound packages of ground beef and other county chapters have been holding similar giveaways. Steph Erpelding of the Sac County Cattlemen’s Association, says they delivered beef sticks earlier this week.
The organization went through the Yetter Locker to get shelf-stable beef sticks that do not require refrigeration. Erpelding says this was made possible through a grant.
The Sac County Cattlemen are also looking forward to grilling out over the Fourth of July.
The organization’s annual steak fry had to be rescheduled and is now going to be held on Monday, Aug. 3 at Spring Lake Golf Course. They will serve from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or from any of the Sac County Cattlemen members.
