Only Minor Damage Reported In Two-Semi Collision Near Ralston Thursday

Only minor damages were reported following a two-vehicle accident north of Ralston Thursday afternoon. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the intersection of 210th Street and Apple Avenue at approximately 4:28 p.m. on a report two semis had collided. According to an initial investigation, a 2017 International semi-tractor trailer, driven by 54-year-old Tracy Robert Saffell of Jefferson, was traveling eastbound on 210th and had stopped at the intersection with Apple. He proceeded into the intersection and did not see a northbound 2020 Freightliner, driven by 45-year-old James Joseph Schultes of Halbur, due to his vision being obscured by the passenger side mirror. Saffell collided with the rear, driver’s side of the Schultes trailer. Neither driver reported any injuries. However, an estimated $3,000 in damage was done to the Saffell semi and approximately $1,000 to the Schultes trailer. No citations were issued.
