More Details Released Regarding Two Carroll County Motor Vehicle Accidents Friday

More information has been released regarding two Carroll County accidents that happened just over an hour apart from each other on Friday. The first accident occurred at approximately 11:48 a.m. on Delta Avenue near the intersection with 270th Street northeast of Manning. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Manning Police Department both report receiving complaints of a Jeep driving erratically. While traveling southbound on Delta, the Jeep passed an Iowa State Patrol trooper. As the trooper was turning around to pursue the suspects, the driver entered the ditch and rolled. It is unclear at this time how many people were in the vehicle, but all parties were transported to Manning Regional Healthcare Center by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of suspected minor injuries. A second accident occurred at the intersection of Robin Avenue and 130th Street north of Lidderdale at approximately 12:54 p.m. An investigation into the incident is still ongoing, but authorities believe a pickup truck was traveling northbound on Robin and failed to stop at a posted sign. The truck proceeded into the intersection and struck the center of a westbound car. The driver of the car was pronounced dead the scene, and two people in the truck were transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more information once official reports have been released by the Iowa State Patrol.
