Landus Schedules Location-Specific Meetings For Farmer-Owners As Harvest Nears

Area farmers have seen some dramatic impacts to their operations this year with COVID-19, drought conditions as well as Monday’s derecho. Landus Cooperative will be bringing producers the opportunity to hear from their leadership about how these may impact harvest logistics at their grain facilities. Virtual meetings on this have been scheduled throughout their service area, beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 19. ‘We know getting ready for harvest is one of our farmer-owners most critical times of the year,” says Landus President and CEO, Matt Carstens. “We’re hosting a series of quick, easy-to-join virtual meetings to keep everyone on the same page about location-specific harvest details, COVID-19 impacts as well as share our vision for the future of your cooperative and where we’re going.” Growers will be able to select a location-specific meeting to discuss grain policy updates and those from the recent storm. These will be approximately 30 minutes long and questions are encouraged as location and regional managers will be on the call. They will be using GoToWebinar so participants can dial-in on their phone or log-in online. “We’re trying to be efficient with our farmer-owners time and practice social distancing for these meetings, so we’ve moved them online,” Carstens says. “We still want to support our rural communities, so all growers who register and attend a session will be entered to win a $50 gift card to one of their locally-owned restaurants,” he adds. To view the location-specific meeting dates and times and to register, visit LandusCooperative.com and look for “pre-harvest meetings.”
