Grassley’s 40th Year Of Meetings In Each Of Iowa’s 99 Counties Starts This Week

Senator Chuck Grassley will be kicking off the 40th year of his annual 99-county tours this Friday, Feb. 14 in Johnson, Cedar and Jones Counties. Grassley has held at least one meeting in every county, every year since he was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1980 and he has long said representative government is a two-way street. “I look forward to the opportunity to listen to Iowans’ comments and concerns and respond directly to their questions,” he says. “I hold meetings in a variety of settings to ensure that a broad cross-section of Iowans can participate, including businesses, schools, town meetings and factory floors. Although the setting may differ from county to county, the format is the same: Iowans set the agenda.”
