The City of Glidden announced this (Thursday) afternoon they will no longer need to shut off water service to the community Friday for water main repairs. According to City Administrator, Brooke Peterson, the public works department and the company contracted to manage the community’s water supply, PeopleService, were able to locate and correct a leak in the system. A boil order has been issued, but only for homes located in the one-block area between 3rd and 4th Streets and Idaho and Nevada Streets. Residents in the identified area should boil all water prior to consumption, including, brushing teeth, making ice and washing dishes. Glidden officials have already notified the affected individuals. Carroll Broadcasting will update residents once the order is lifted.
