Found Weapon And Drug Paraphernalia Lead To Arrest Warrant Request

The Jefferson Police Department received a report of drug paraphernalia located in the 300 block of West Washington Street last Friday. This resulted in a request for arrest warrants later that day. The narcotic-related items and a modified .22 caliber rifle with a banana clip were taken as part of the investigation, initiated at approximately 2:53 a.m. Later that day, at approximately 7:34 p.m., an arrest warrant was requested on 53-year-old Robert E. Barnard of Jefferson for possession of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony, first-offense possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
