Felony Drug Charge Filed Against Carroll Man Accused Of Bringing Methamphetamine Into County Jail

Trial information was filed last week in District Court for Carroll County charging a Carroll man with felony drug possession. According to court records, 41-year-old Bradley Donald Booher faces one count of third-offense possession of a controlled substance—methamphetamine, a class D felony. The charge carries a habitual offender enhancement due to numerous prior convictions in Iowa dating as far back as March of 2002, including six counts of delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree burglary. Booher was taken into custody by the Carroll Police Department on Feb. 3 for driving while revoked, a serious misdemeanor. Law enforcement asked Booher several times if he had any illegal substances on his person, which he denied. Booher later provided a baggy containing trace amounts of a white substance as he was being booked. Test results from the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) laboratory returned positive for methamphetamine on April 15. His arraignment hearing has been scheduled for July 9. A class D felony carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
