Counterfeit $100 bills were located in Jefferson following a citizen complaint. The Jefferson Police Department reports they were contacted by a resident at approximately 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon who told them they suspected they had received counterfeit bills. The woman told the officer that a Jefferson man had paid back a loan and after he left, she noticed some things that brought her to the conclusion the 10 $100 bills were not legitimate. She also reported that a newly filled prescription was missing. An investigation was opened and a search warrant requested. This was executed later that day, at approximately 10:17 p.m., in the 500 block of North Vine Street. More counterfeit money was recovered and arrest warrants on 26-year-old Dakota Neil Bishop were requested. He is facing a charge of forgery, a class D felony.
