CCSD Board Of Education To Meet Monday As District Prepares For Start Of School

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education will meet Monday for their regularly scheduled August meeting. The board narrowly finalized a return-to-learn plan at a special meeting on Aug. 5, so a bulk of the items on next week’s agenda focus on preparing teachers and staff for the start of classes on Aug. 25. According to Superintendent, Dr. Casey Berlau, the board has a lengthy list of contracts to review and approve.

The district’s return-to-learn plan has most students back in classrooms full-time when school begins, but it does give parents the option to enroll their child in an entirely online format. The board will also consider several new policies concerning expectations and operations for students and teachers using distance learning during the fall semester. According to Berlau, more than 50 students are enrolled in the online option as of Friday.

School officials will then move on to reports from the business office, which Berlau says mostly deals with reviewing bids for the Food and Nutrition Department.

The Monday, Aug. 17 meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the boardroom at Adams Elementary School. It will also be livestreamed via Zoom Video Conferencing. Links with details on how to view the meeting as well as the full agenda for Monday’s meeting can be found included below..
